HOW COLOR WHEEL CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE



Colours play a very important role in our life, and every colour has its significance in the hinduism, apart from decorative values.Using proper colours make our life cheerful, as every colour relates with some special features.  Main colours used in our daily life are red, yellow, saffron, green, blue, black and white. Hindu deities are coloured and dressed according to their qualities. The symbolic property of the specific colour is inherited by us we use it in our day to day life.

Red is seen in most religious and sacred occasions like marriages, child birth, festivals etc. A red mark or tilak is put on the forehead during ceremonies . It has very high visibility, which is why stop signs, stoplights, and fire equipment are usually painted red.This colour also represents fertility. The vermilion powder or Sindoor  is red in colour, is symbolic of women marital union with her husband.They also wear a red sari during marriage. Goddess Durga is often associated with the colour red. She is seen draped in blood-red saree So red colour resembles shakti or energy. A red coloured dress is put on deities who are charitable, brave, protective and who have, the capacity to destroy evil. So red makes us energetic & powerful.

Yellow is the colour of sunshine and  have healing power. Even during marriage, family members of the bride and the groom apply haldi on their body. This colour activates the mind,energy and intelligence. It symbolizes happiness, peace, meditation, competence and mental development. Lord Vishnu’s dress is yellow symbolizing his representation of knowledge. Lord Krishna and Ganesha also wear yellow dresses. So yellow makes us intelligent.

Green is the colour of mother nature and symbolize growth, harmony, peace and happiness. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it  gives stability to mind and can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. Thus green colour refreshes our mind making us cool and happy

Saffron represents purity & fire. It is the colour of holy men and ascetics who have renounced the world, in search of enlightment. Wearing the colour symbolizes the quest for light.Thus saffron makes us divine and connects us to god. 


Blue is the of wholesomeness, power and life.The maximum of what we can see is blue, i.e. the sky, the oceans, the rivers and lakes. It resembles the qualities of bravery, manliness, determination, the ability to deal in difficult situations, stable mind and depth of character. Lord Rama and Krishna spent their life protecting humanity and destroying evil, hence they are coloured blue.So Blue makes a complete man.

White represents purity, cleanliness, goodness, innocence,peace and knowledge. The goddess of knowledge, Saraswati is always shown as wearing a white dress, sitting on a white lotus. A Hindus wear a white dresses  to bid a peaceful farewell to the departing soul, signifying they are above grief and happiness of the material world. A hindu widow wears white saree signifying purity and denouncement of worldly happiness.So white gives us the feeling of sacrifice, brings out truthfulness in us.

Black is  associated with the evil. It symbolizes darkness and negativity. Black is a mysterious color associated with fear and the unknown But the same colour is used as an antidote to ward off evil. Children are given black spot on their forehead to keep of evil eyes. People use objects made of black and hang them outside their homes to prevent evil from entering the house. Even black cotton strings are tied on the wrist to fight negativity. Black motivates us for doing something wrong and attracts negativity.
